I see this is not correct and that the Universal Control has replaced the audio box driver (yes I have been stagnate for a while)Ģ. I had thought that the Audio box driver PreSonus_AudioBox_Installer_v1_3_5653 was the current driver. The simple and obvious things first are recommended.ġ. Install the correct Presonus drivers is also something I would do. I have seen some weird stuff going on with long MIDI cables as well. (the OP may also not feel comfortable doing a motherboard bios update) If your USB ports are working in other aspects I am thinking the motherboard bios is fine. Bios updates in my experience have rarely fixed issues with audio interfaces. This is one area I would be certainly trying first (short USB lead) before going into complex motherboard bios updates which in fact have the potential to cause other problems. I have never used a USB cable longer than 6 feet and have never had an issue like this either.Īvoid using hubs too. Better quality cables are often thicker and actually feel better quality. The quality of the USB cable itself is also a factor. (Note: 3M for USB 3) The OP is right at the max length now. Research (involving USB 2 cables and audio interfaces) seems to indicate a max length of 5 meters. Fact is you don't have a telepathic link to his PC and nor do I.Īlso you aren't the forum police. May I say you are fully entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts. There is nothing wrong with what I've written whatsoever regardless of your wonderful opinion. In this case everything I wrote (checklist) effects the USB bus. If they need more help they will ask for it.

I wrote a list of things for them to do and check. I like to give as fully comprehensive advise to the OP as possible. Fact is nobody knows if this is a BIOS problem or not. Just because you have not seen it does not make this the wrong advise. Ive worked in PC support for decades I've seen things. I have in fact updated a motherboard BIOS quite a few times and it has made USB devices work. Updating motherboard bios in my experience has rarely solved an issue like this. From my extensive experience it is often the simpler things that are responsible. Some of which may not be necessarily be relevant. Jemusic wroteI think you can easily suggest far too many options.
